Sponsorship of the Documentary "With Pencil and Paper in Prison - Traces of History from Generation to Generation"

Kokkalis Foundation supports the creation of the feature-length documentary "With Pencil and Paper in Prison - Traces of History from Generation to Generation", a co-production of ERT S.A. with Laika Productions.

The project concerns stories of the return of political exiles, while the narrative is based on letters, illegal messages, letters of denunciation, diary entries, prison notebooks, pages and works of creative writing by prisoners or displaced persons, men and women. The action takes place in places of prison (Aegina, Korydallos, Yediti Koule) or exile (Gyaros, Leros) as well as in European capitals, such as Paris, London, Munich, with Greek-speaking radio stations as well as other ways of networking and action.

The research is primary and the material is mostly unpublished.

The protagonist of the narrative is a young man from today, who, having found in the post-political present, 50 years later, some of the letters that his grandfather had sent to his children and wife in the distant 1971, will seek to unravel the mystery of a story that is presently largely unknown to him.

Research, screenplay: Erifili Maroniti

Director: Marina Danezi
