Kokkalis Fellow publishes study on financial crisis alongside HKS Professor Jeffrey Frankel

George Saravelos (MPA/ID '10) published his 2nd year analysis paper alongside professor Jeffrey Frankel in June 2010 with The National Bureau of Economic Research. The paper focuses on the effectiveness of indicators of economic crisis and "suggests that central bank reserves and past movements in the real exchange rate are the two leading indicators that have proven the most useful in explaining crisis incidence across different countries and crises in the past."

Founded in 1920, the National Bureau of Economic Research is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of how the economy works. The NBER is committed to undertaking and disseminating unbiased economic research among public policymakers, business professionals, and the academic community.
