Tο Ίδρυμα Κόκκαλη ιδρύθηκε το 1998 στην Αθήνα και αποτελεί έναν μη-κυβερνητικό, μη-κερδοσκοπικό οργανισμό που υπηρετεί το όραμα του Σωκράτη Κόκκαλη, ενός διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένου επιχειρηματία στον τομέα της τεχνολογίας της πληροφορίας και των τηλεπικοινωνιών, και τιμά το έργο και τη συνεισφορά του αείμνηστου πατέρα του Πέτρου Κόκκαλη, διεθνώς διακεκριμένου χειρουργού και ανθρωπιστή, καθηγητή της ιατρικής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών και ιδρυτή της πρώτης νευροχειρουργικής κλινικής στην Ελλάδα.
