Chrysostomos Sfatos is the Executive Director and Director of Program Development and Management of the Kokkalis Foundation since November 2007, a position he previously held between 1997-2000. He has been Director for International Relations of INTRACOM since 2000. Mr. Sfatos has led the Foundation’s first steps in reaching out to Southeastern Europe and has contributed to building the network of Fellows of the Kokkalis Foundation and the Kokkalis Program in the region. He is a founding member of the Athens Information Technology Center of Excellence for Research and Education. His interests include International Relations in Southeastern Europe and the Arab World, EU policies on education and innovation, political risk analysis and corporate external affairs. Mr. Sfatos holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University.
Thanasis Zesimopoulos is the Financial and Administrative Director of the Kokkalis Foundation. He founded the Hellenic Public Radio in New York in 1987 and acted as the organization’s director from 1987-1997. Concurrently he worked as Chairman of the associated non-profit organization GAEPIS. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the National Herald in New York (1981-1997), as a member of the U.N. Correspondent Association, and as a correspondent for Flash Radio, the Swedish Radio and for major Greek Broadcasting Networks. Mr. Zesimopoulos was honored by the Governor of New York State, The Mayor, and the City Council of New York, for his public service. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of New York (1979).
Mónica R. P. d’ Assunção Carlos is the Research, Development, and Academic Affairs Director of the Kokkalis Foundation since 2001. She received her M.A. degree in Political Science from Columbia University, New York, and her M.S. degree in Management and Policy from the State University of New York, in New York. She has also received a Law degree (J.D.) from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Mrs. Carlos has participated in the European Union's Training and Mobility of Researchers program on the welfare state in collaboration with EKKE-The National Centre for Social Research of Greece. She has published research papers and edited volumes on social policy, social democracy, and the welfare state. She has been awarded several scholarships and research fellowships by the Research and Technology Foundation of Portugal and by the European Commission.
Vassiliki Katsanioti is the Administrative Assistant of the Kokkalis Foundation. She is a graduate in Business Administration from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and has extensive professional experience as an administrative assistant in leading Greek corporations of the private and non-profit sectors.
