Stressing that the EU was since its inception a project for political peace, Bagis emphasized that what gives Europe its contemporary character is diversity. For the first time since centuries, Bagis stated, there is now an opportunity to bring that diversity together and to unite Europe around shared ideals and common goals

Athens, 18 June 2009-On the occasion of the European Year of Innovation the Kokkalis Foundation organized, under the aegis of SEV-Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, an event presenting the research study “Innovation in Greece-Comparative Evaluation with International Indicators, Policies, Strategy Recommendations,” a study conducted by the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB).

Kokkalis Foundation Chairman Mr. Socrates Kokkalis has received the 2008 Phidippides Award by the Board of Directors of New York’s Hellenic Public Radio for his contribution to Hellenism through the work and achievements of the Kokkalis Foundation, the Kokkalis Program at Harvard, and the Athens Information Technology Center.
